Operations Support Analyst
Plains is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil. This is a six-month contract position with the potential to convert to full-time employment.
The Operations Support Analyst provides operational, analytical, and high-level administrative support to the Operations organization and senior leadership. This role supports reporting, initiatives, executive coordination, and process improvement while proactively organizing workflows and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is highly organized, professional, analytical, and comfortable supporting senior executives in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Functions
Operations & Analytical Support
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly status reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership review.
- Serve as a point of contact for Operations initiatives, projects, and special assignments.
- Assist in the preparation, proofreading, and editing of communication materials and leadership documents.
Executive & Administrative Support
- Provide advanced administrative and operational support to the department and senior Operations leaders as required.
- Perform expert calendar management for complex and fast-moving executive schedules.
- Proactively coordinate logistics for internal and external meetings, including in-person and virtual formats (Microsoft Teams)
- Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements for Operations leadership upon request.
- Maintain and process expense reports and invoices accurately and on time.
- Provide professional phone coverage and timely message coordination as needed.
Meeting, Event & Project Coordination
- Organize and facilitate meetings and events for groups ranging from 20 to 100 employees.
- Demonstrate strong event planning and logistical coordination skills for leadership forums, town halls, and departmental meetings.
- Support corporate events, demonstrating flexibility to assist with occasional early mornings or evenings.
Systems, Documentation & Organization
- Create, manage, and maintain the Operations department SharePoint site and electronic files.
- Maintain organizational charts, directories, and floor plans to reflect current organizational changes.
- Work independently on relatively complex administrative and operational tasks.
Culture & Continuous Improvement
- Proactively keep the team organized and promote a culture of continuous improvement across Operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, communication, and administrative efficiency.

- Comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization, including senior executives and external stakeholders.
- High standard of personal integrity supported by open and honest communication.
- Professional presence with credibility, punctuality, and discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Comfortable learning and using modern office technology, including video conferencing and audiovisual tools.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in operations support, executive support, or administrative roles supporting senior leadership.
- Experience working with executive-level or C-suite leaders preferred.
- Industry experience (e.g., Oil & Gas or corporate operations) preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Available for a four and one schedule (Mon-Thurs in office, Friday remote).
- Flexible schedule to support key Operations and corporate events.
- Cleared criminal history (background), satisfactory reference checks, and compliance with company drug and alcohol policies.
