Field Service Mechanic
PIRTEK is proud to be the nation's leading provider for on-site hydraulic and industrial hose assembly and replacement. Our success is driven by a team of dedicated franchise partners and team members.
Our Field Service Mechanics are averaging $28 to $37 per hour, when you factor in:
- Overtime after 8 hours in a day
- Double time after 10 hours in a day
- On-call pay
- Commissions
Ask yourself:
- Does your current employer pay time and a half after 8 hours in a day?
- Do they pay double time after 10 hours in the same day?
If the answer is no, you should talk to us.
As a Field Service Mechanic, you will provide on-site hydraulic hose service for customers across southeastern Wisconsin. You will:
- Respond to service calls replacing hydraulic hoses, tubing, and fittings
- Diagnose hose failures and determine the correct repair solution
- Fabricate replacement hoses on-site using a fully equipped service vehicle
- Communicate clearly with customers and explain repairs and recommendations
- Identify additional service or replacement needs while on location
- Safely operate and maintain your company-provided service van
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule with additional pay
This is hands-on, field-based work. You will work independently most days and represent PIRTEK directly at customer sites.
No two days are the same, but most days look like this:
- Start your day from home or the shop with a stocked service van
- Run scheduled service calls and emergency breakdowns
- Travel to customer sites including manufacturing facilities, construction sites, and fleet yards
- Diagnose leaks, remove failed hoses, and build replacements on-site using company equipment and your own hand tools
- Talk with customers, document work, and move on to the next call
- Some days run longer, and when they do, you are paid daily overtime and double time
This role rewards mechanics who like autonomy, problem-solving, and getting paid fairly for long days.
We offer:
- Average earnings of $28 to $37 per hour
- Daily overtime pay
- Time and a half after 8 hours
- Double time after 10 hours
- On-call pay and commission opportunities
- Fully equipped service vehicle provided
- Paid Time Off
- Paid major holidays
- Health insurance with 50% of the premium paid by the company
- 401(k)
- Paid training, hydraulic experience not required for the right candidate
We are looking for:
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with your hands
- At least one year of experience in mechanical repair, assembly, or a skilled trade
- Ownership of basic hand tools required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate and park a commercial service van at or near your residence
- High school diploma or equivalent
We are a local operation, not a corporate machine.
- Clear and fair overtime rules
- Equipment that works
- Leadership that understands field work
- A team that respects your time and effort
If you want steady work, real overtime pay, and a role where your skill matters, this job is worth a conversation.
