As a Psychiatric Technician Level 1 at Pine Rest, you'll be part of a tight-knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertise and compassion. Under general supervision and according to departmental policies and procedures and within the individual plan of care performs the role of physical and emotional care given to clients with mental illness and/or developmental delays. Is responsible to actively participate in safety management, milieu management, crisis intervention and prevention.

Principal duties and responsibilities include:

  • Providing a safe and secure environment for persons served and staff.
  • Collaborating in day-to-day planning/development of person served programming.
  • Assisting persons served with personal care.
  • Actively participating in safety management, crisis intervention and prevention.
  • Surveying, documenting, and reporting all safety repair and maintenance needs.
  • Performing household duties such as cleaning, cooking, and laundry.
  • Documenting all progress notes, medication administration, and any other relevant information.
  • Monitoring for and reporting any potential risk to person's served safety.
  • Conducting searches of persons served and their belongings.
  • Completing reports and paperwork as needed.
  • Assisting in the teaching of persons served/family.
  • Role modeling the mission and values of the organization.
  • Learning and helping to accomplish treatment plans and goals of persons served.
  • Performing basic office duties.
  • Assisting in training new staff.
  • Supporting and promoting a recovery focused environment.
  • Role modeling the mission and values of the organization in hospital and residential services.
  • Obtaining the necessary knowledge of medications required by their position.

Education/experience requirements include:

  • Completion of a minimum of six months post high school education in behavioral sciences or equivalent.
  • CNA certification or one to two years of college education.

Work schedule: This position is onsite and may require both weekend and holiday hours.
