Entry-Level Engineer

The Entry-Level Engineer supports the Engineering team by performing light maintenance tasks, responding to guest service requests, and assisting with the upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. This position is ideal for individuals beginning a career in resort engineering and facilities maintenance. The role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to follow standard operating procedures, and a willingness to learn technical systems.
Location: Onsite at Black Desert Resort
Shift & Schedule: Year-Round / Full Time
Salary Range: $22.00/ hour. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers with general repairs and scheduled maintenance tasks
- Perform room preventive maintenance (PM), including inspection and minor repair of HVAC filters, door hardware, drains, toilets, light fixtures, and thermostats
- Respond to guestroom service calls and track resolution through Nuvola or other work order systems
- Conduct light repairs such as paint touch-up, wallpaper patching, caulking, and basic furniture repair
- Identify and respond to minor life safety issues (e.g., tripped alarms, emergency lighting, fire extinguisher visibility) and escalate when needed
- Monitor and replenish engineering and housekeeping supply closets
- Keep mechanical rooms, storage areas, and tools clean, organized, and secure
- Perform daily walk-throughs of guest and common areas to identify maintenance concerns
- Transport tools, materials, and equipment safely across resort property
- Follow all resort safety procedures and wear PPE when required
- Provide courteous, guest-focused service while working in guest-facing areas
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 1 years of experience in general maintenance, building services, or facilities support preferred
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow standard operating procedures
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable using ladders and hand tools safely
- Good verbal communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to learn and grow into more advanced engineering responsibilities
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods
