Job Purpose

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes and machinery. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical design, process improvement, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics engineering, or electromechanical engineering mandatory
  • Fluent in English (85% minimal)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good troubleshooting skills to solve complex problems – preferable Shainin or Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with laser welding machines (IPG brand preferable), Sservo presses and process control monitoring devices such as load cells, travel, vision systems.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with automated processes (clean room environment, high precision equipment)
  • High level of knowledge/expertise for machine mechanical design.
  • Flexibility to travel globally for 1–2-week assignments for: training, workshops and validations
  • Strong ability to work with others and provide training
  • Expert on process documentation such as: PFD, PFMEA, PCP, Standard work. Maintain documentation in real time.
  • Fast response to customer issues. Error Proof processes – Prevention approach
  • Process data / dashboards analysis for quick response solving problems
  • High qualified in pneumatic, electric control and mechanical design (GD&T)

Responsibilities:

  • Keep production lines with OE and quality metrics on target
  • Follow Change Request process / Process deviation per PHINIA procedures.
  • Design processes and create machine specifications to manufacture and assemble with high quality and low cost
  • Perform testing and qualification for new machines to ensure capability to perform to specifications
  • Propose cost reduction and quality improvements to processes (current and launches)
  • Provide quotations for new business opportunities
  • Familiar with manual and automatic assembly systems
