Job Opportunity In Pennsylvania Transportation Engineering

Responsibilities: This position will play a vital role in expanding our presence in eastern Pennsylvania, hiring and mentoring staff, and helping guide the overall direction of our growth and expansion in eastern Pennsylvania as well as supporting growth throughout the company. The candidate will be part of our Pennsylvania leadership team which collaborates on project pursuits and delivery throughout the state. The successful candidate must be energetic and be able to mentor and lead teams. In addition, they must have a demonstrated ability to pursue and manage transportation projects with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation particularly PennDOT District's 5-0 and 6-0 as well as the City of Philadelphia and other municipalities, counties, and regional planning organizations. This is a unique opportunity to help grow our Pennsylvania transportation practice and expand a market for a leading multi-disciplined transportation engineering firm. The successful candidate should possess strong business development skills while working collaboratively with multi-disciplined teams throughout Pennsylvania and the rest of the company. Leadership responsibilities include operating with integrity and sound business principles, providing practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building and maintaining positive client relationships, open communication with partners and team, along with growing and directing the eastern Pennsylvania transportation practice. Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • A minimum of 20 years of experience in the transportation industry leading multi-disciplined experts
  • Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or have the ability to become licensed within 6 months through comity from another state
  • Track record of developing and growing markets and cultivating outstanding internal and external relationships
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff of all levels, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
  • Excellent communication and business development skills including writing proposals, scopes of work, scheduling, and budgets for projected work
  • Demonstrated experience leading transportation contracts in PA
  • Alternative Project Delivery experience a plus
  • Excellent reputation as a transportation professional
  • Strong knowledge of PennDOT Policies and Procedures
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work with others
