Banking Operations Manager

This role involves managing various banking operations with a focus on processing and reviewing daily transactions, generating reports, and providing exceptional customer service. The position requires adherence to service level agreements and necessitates independent decision-making within established bank policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle bank confirmation requests and manage daily processes including Holds Review, Mobile Deposit, and ATM Deposit reviews.
  • Compile and finalize daily and monthly reports for Deposit Services.
  • Process research requests for check copies, statements, deposits, offsets, and wires, ensuring compliance with SLAs.
  • Manage fee reversal requests with necessary research to validate accuracy.
  • Oversee the Deposited Return Items chargeback report and related notifications and instructions.
  • Maintain SQN data signature cards, update client profiles, and manage client authorization letters.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service by providing precise information to clients and colleagues.
  • Make informed decisions in line with bank policies and procedures.
  • Provide insights to supervisors on trends observed during report reviews and queue management.
  • Complete tasks efficiently and independently.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in working accurately in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Sound judgment in decision-making impacting client accounts and operations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining quality and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of complex banking products, processes, and legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with systems like IBS Insight, VSoft, Synergy, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for handling sensitive information with clients and external parties.
  • In-depth understanding of check features and fraudulent item characteristics.
  • Good knowledge of Reg CC and Reg E policies and procedures.
  • Experience in processing ACH transactions.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment requiring strong organizational, technical, and interpersonal skills.
