ClinOps is the engine behind Pfizer's clinical trial execution. We ensure that every study—from early design to final reporting—is conducted with scientific rigor, operational excellence, and patient safety at the forefront. Our work spans process development, compliance, training, and strategic planning across therapeutic areas.
Clinical Study Team Leads (CSTLs) are the orchestrators of clinical studies. They direct cross-functional teams, manage timelines and budgets, and ensure that every aspect of a trial—from site selection to data collection and reporting—is aligned with global standards and best practices. CSTLs are central to delivering high-quality, efficient, and compliant studies.
As an undergraduate joining our team, you'll be working alongside skilled CSTLs to gain hands-on exposure to:

In this role the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop an in-depth knowledge of the key elements of the clinical study lifecycle. During your time in Clinical Operations, you will get hands-on experience of many aspects of clinical trials, across one or more therapeutic areas. You may have the opportunity to work on process improvement initiatives within the Clin Ops organization.
All successful applicants will support one or more multiple projects and will develop a comprehension of the key clinical trial deliverables. Applicants will have the opportunity to work within both cross-functional study teams and supporting dedicated process and standards projects. The opportunity to work within the following therapeutic areas will also be offered:
ClinOps partners closely with other functions within Pfizer, and as such the successful candidate could have the opportunity to gain insights into other core clinical development functions including:
We aim to facilitate an awareness of other areas of the business across the course of the placement, to provide a rounded awareness of the pharmaceutical business.
Successful applicants will also gain access to an extensive library of training tools and participate in regular educational sessions.
Candidates will be offered participation in voluntary events such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) supported activities and are actively encouraged to get involved in delivering science demonstrations to school pupils as part of the Pfizer STEM outreach programme, at events like Science Fairs.
We also encourage membership of a Colleague Resource Group to promote diversity initiatives and influence our culture.
Placements will start on 1st September 2026 and will run for 12 months. This date is fixed due to the 2 week Induction and Onboarding programme that all new starters.
