Persona AI is developing and commercializing rugged, multi-purpose humanoid robots that perform real work. Persona's founding team has a decades-long history in humanoid robotics, bionics, and product development delivering robust hardware that has touched the stars, worked miles below the surface of the ocean, and even roamed Disney Parks. Our mission is focused squarely on shipping beautiful, reliable products at massive scale, while building a customer-focused team to achieve these aims.
We're looking for an exceptional software engineer (teleoperation) who dreams big, thrives on working closely with hardware and software, and loves building systems that bridge the gap between human intuition and robotic capability. You have a passion for real-time systems and believe magic happens when robots can learn effectively as humans do.
We are primarily interested in candidates who have shipped production teleoperation or immersive systems at scale. As a software engineer at Persona, you will have an incredible opportunity to shape how humans interact with our humanoid robots, creating intuitive control systems that feel natural and responsive. If you're passionate about creating technology that seamlessly extends human capability and want to be part of a world-class team, we'd love to hear from you.
Design, develop, and implement immersive teleoperation systems, including real-time control, low-latency audio/video streaming, and user interfaces.
Continuously evaluate and prototype different teleoperation options in the markets.
Collaborate closely with robot operators to gather feedback and continuously improve the experience based on real-world use.
Work cross-functionally with ML, platforms, controls, and design teams.
Develop creative strategies for visualizing the state of the robot and its environment that extend beyond just streaming video.
Experience in teleoperation, robotics, VR/AR, or related fields, with a strong track record of delivering production-grade systems.
Proficient in C++, Python
Strong understanding of real-time controls, motion retargeting, rigid body dynamics, and kinematics.
Experience with low-latency networking protocols, audio-visual streaming, and digital signal processing for real-time applications.
Practical experience building immersive solutions, including depth sensing, haptic feedback, and human-computer interaction.
A friendly, collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and excitement to work hands-on in a dynamic, supportive team environment.
A comprehensive portfolio demonstrating your specific contributions to teleoperation or immersive systems projects.
Experience with computer vision and 3D geometry.
Experience working with robotic systems or hardware integration.
Familiarity with haptic feedback systems and force control.
