Job Description

The Application Specialist, as a technical and scientific reference for applications, collaborates with all teams on the ground to develop, promote and deploy world-class systems and tools.

They are the contact for Sales and Service teams from prospecting to after-sales. Through their technical knowledge, the Application Specialist contributes to the growth of turnover by identifying opportunities for product evolution to meet market needs with high-value added and differentiating solutions.

Principal Activities

• Create content and animate training for field teams (marketing & sales) when new features/functionalities are available on LC and LC/MS/MS applications.
• Technically and scientifically support Account Managers during client visits in pre-sales.
• Perform product demonstrations (LC and LC/MS/MS) for clients at their sites or in our demonstration center.
• Support commercial development by creating/identifying and coordinating the implementation of Try and Buy opportunities/collaborations on innovative applications or critical business cases.
• Train client users on sold MatChar solutions (on-site client or within the demonstration center).
• Develop customer applications and implement Perkin Elmer LC and LC/MS/MS solutions at client sites.
• Provide training and support for Southern European Account Managers and the HTDS reseller.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Services to identify, communicate and incorporate new product improvements to provide customers with competitive, differentiating solutions.
• Characterize the external market by performing competitive analysis and evaluations on the territory and specific market segments.
• Identify and develop a networking strategy with all VIP/decision-makers in France for all market segments we can address.
• Participate in regional and/or national meetings by presenting Perkin Elmer solutions to clients and helping the sales department to respond to inquiries.
• Participate in conferences on innovations and the market that promote the development of professional networks and collaborations.

Specific Professional Knowledge

• Specialized knowledge of HPLC and LC/MS/MS technologies
• Experience in a similar position in close collaboration with sales and/or product support teams on LC and LC/MS/MS products
• Knowledge of techniques, applications and market of deployed MatChar instruments ideally in toxicological and environmental fields
• Intermediate level on MS Office Suite – Excel imperatively
• Creation and animation of training

• Scientific level or degree (Master, Doctorate) or equivalent experience in LC/MS/MS chromatography technologies
