Maintenance Technician

This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of customer equipment as assigned. This position is trained in at least two skill sets, maintains a high level of productivity, must have three of the four CFESA certifications and is assigned to the on-call roster. This position demonstrates leadership capabilities with the ability to mentor and train other employees.

Major responsibilities include:

  1. Adhering to all safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  2. Troubleshooting and repairing gas, electric, water, refrigeration and steam powered commercial kitchen and HVAC equipment.
  3. Utilizing a tablet to document tasks on a timely basis.
  4. Communicating professionally with customers regarding required repairs and status.
  5. Using proper tools for repair, including hand tools and power tools.
  6. Monitoring truck stock to ensure required parts are stocked on vehicle.
  7. Maintaining service vehicle, tools and uniforms.
  8. Working independently with daily supervision.
  9. Participating as scheduled for weekend/holiday on-call rotation and working regular overtime as needed.

Additional responsibilities include:

  1. Obtaining correct part numbers through branch parts person.
  2. Collecting payment on COD jobs.
  3. Contributing positively to branch targets for response time and first time fix rates.
  4. Participating in available training to increase skill and knowledge.
  5. Performing other duties as required.

Contacts include:

  • Internal – Daily with branch staff; occasionally with corporate staff.
  • External – Frequent and regular contact with customers. Occasional contact with factories for warranty purposes.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Completion of a satisfactory background check and drug screen is required.
  • 3 years of applicable experience.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that aligns with our safety standards.
  • CFESA Master Technician with three of the four CFESA certifications.
