Quality Assurance Manager

This role is required to work with the lab teams on both sites to ensure governance of all requirements of the ISO17025 standard across the ~30 methods in the 4 quality laboratories:

• Ire Analytical Lab
• Cg Manufacturing lab
• Ire Sensory Lab
• Ire Micro Lab

Responsibilities

• Ensure ISO17025 General requirements for the competence of testing laboratories standard and all its requirements are embedded into Raw Materials, Micro, Manufacturing and Sensory labs in Little Island and Carrigaline.
• Prepare for and Lead annual accreditation audits with A2LA and ensure all findings closed in timely manner
• Lead annual Management Review for the Ireland QC labs and ensure actions closed
• Create training and deliver on ISO17025 standard (new starter, refresher)
• Ensuring compliance to LI Laboratory training procedure/PGCS training programme – all test methods, auditing, quality systems training
• External Services – lab equipment and consumables – management of calibrations, compliance to ISO 17025 requirements.
• Test Method Controls – QC controls & charts, and trend analysis - governance for 23 test methods
• Management of LGC proficiency programme for accredited methods, liasing with LGC and follow up on any unsatisfactory proficiency result across the labs.
• Non conformance management (any deviations related to 23 test methods) – work with the 5 quality laboratories to ensure appropriate corrective actions are in place, monitored for effectiveness and documented, and closed in a timely manner.
• Document Control – test methods and quality systems procedures to be reviewed at set frequency ( approx. 40 Quality Systems procedures + 23 test methods and associated records, including systems - Starlims.)
• Liaise with A2LA, accreditation body on changes to standard, scheduling of annual audit, close out of non conformances as per A2LA timelines
• Train and Manage internal audit team and ensure adherence to audit schedule (30 methods and all sections of ISO17025 General requirements for the competence of testing laboratories standard must be internally audited annually)
• Complete test method verifications for any new or updated test methods (includes Measurement Uncertainty)
• Maintain ISO 17025 Quality Management System integrity in times of change
• Drive Continuous improvement agenda throughout the Quality Management System
• Work to understand and implement ISO17025 Standard changes.
• Ensure the 14 PGCS Quality Programmes implemented across LI Labs

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience of ISO17025 General requirements for the competence of testing laboratories is essential.
• 5 years working in a quality systems/ Manufacturing Environment
• Experience leading external audits
• Ability to understand different science disciples
• Knowledge of LIMS, Minitab an advantage
