IT Associate Network Operations Center Engineer
The Associate Network Operations Center Engineer is an entry level position that staffs the IT Security and Network Operations Center to monitor network and security tools, dashboards, alerts, and notifications from end users for issues, outages, and incidents. They will help triage, resolve, and escalate incidents and issues to the appropriate IT responders as needed. This role is crucial in safeguarding the ministry's operations and ensuring the availability of our information assets. They will also help maintain ministry systems by installing updates on servers and other IT equipment. Perform other duties as assigned.
Use industry standard tools to monitor real-time dashboards and alerts for possible issues and outages. Works with Network Engineers and Business Solutions Programmers to optimize monitoring of networks and systems to maximize uptime including meeting SLAs, ensure reliability, and improve availability, and performance of information assets. Discover problems sooner and remediate them before they become larger problems, incidents, or outages.
The Associate Network Operations Center Engineer is the IT first responders when problems are detected by Network and Applications monitoring tools & dashboards or reported by users. They will collect incident information and create service tickets. They will use a knowledge base initially to troubleshoot and try to resolve the incident as quickly as possible. If unable to resolve the incident, they will escalate the incident to the appropriate IT Responders. Continue to track the outage until resolved while keeping the stakeholders informed.
Install Operating Systems and Applications software upgrades to the ministry servers and other IT equipment during scheduled system maintenance times to maintain security and a highly available network.
Create and maintain documentation of Network Operations Center incidents, issues, outages, and changes. Use ministry procedures for reporting any issues and outages to stakeholders.

Education: HS Preferred, Education: Master's Degree - Computer Science
Required Experience: 1+ years in network security
