Position Information $33.15 hourly This position may be eligible for annual incentive pay and contracted increases as determined by the collective bargaining agreement, and you will have the opportunity for continued salary growth. Performs a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of water distribution.
Working knowledge of the distribution system and ability to read location maps and valve indexes, make sketches and reports as necessary and required. Working knowledge of water distribution system is preferred. Must have basic geographical knowledge of company's service area and working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and safety practices as well as regulations regarding confined spaces. Ability to operate company equipment and vehicles necessary for completion of assigned responsibilities. Knowledge, skills, and abilities as outlined in the Utility Person job description (attached).
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Once an individual is hired into or awarded a Utility Service Crew Driver position, he or she must take and pass the appropriate state certification examination for Class E Water Distribution License within 24 months, and apply for certification within 6 months of achieving the minimum experience requirement for certification, if he or she had not already met the minimum experience requirement upon passing the certification test.
Must be adaptable to variations in topography and weather conditions. Must be able to lift and maneuver equipment and materials of varying weights up to 100 lbs.
Position may be subject to mandatory off hours call-out and overtime. Required to possess and maintain a drivers license valid in the state of their residence. Will be required to complete and maintain forms needed for a driver qualification file. Will be required to obtain a DOT medical card.
