Research Assistant Position

The Department of Plant Science seeks a research assistant to work in the weed ecology lab to assist with experiments in both the field and greenhouse. Duties include: collection and processing of plant and soil samples, data collection, data entry, and set up and maintenance of experiments. Research projects will address key questions within weed ecology, such as: how do belowground traits influence crop and weed competition; how may changes to precipitation associated with climate change influence weed management efficacy; and how can we enhance the efficacy of ecologically based weed management practices?

Requirements: A driver's license is required (but personal vehicle NOT required). Must be willing to work in a variety of environments, including outdoors. Must be organized, able to work independently as well as within a group, demonstrate attention to details, and ability to follow instructions. This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
