The Mail Services Clerk is a 20 hour per week opening Monday thru Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. that is part of our Camps Mail Services team. This position is primarily responsible for: First point of contact for the mail room counter window. Perform various mail room duties such as using scale to determine postage, processing mail using postal meter, and creating shipping labels and other tasks as needed. Operate a vehicle as needed. Sort and case mail and packages for faculty, staff, & students as needed in support of Mail Clerk Driver or in their absence of Mail Clerk Driver. Deliver mail, packages, and copies to offices on campus as needed in support of Mail Clerk Driver. Pick up outgoing post office mail & interdepartmental mail from offices to be processed as needed in support of Mail Clerk Driver or in their absence of Mail Clerk Driver. Ensure high quality customer service is provided by student staff. Train staff on mailroom standard operating procedures to ensure a high level of accuracy handling mail & packages Submit weekly reports to management.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Ability to lift and carry packages, which may weigh up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation. Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing or sitting) for extended periods, with or without accommodation. May require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
Background Checks/Clearances:
Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
