Instructional Design Support

The University College is seeking applicants for a part-time job of Instructional Design Support. This position will be supporting faculty instructional design needs at the Penn State Commonwealth Campuses. Successful candidates will collaborate and consult with faculty members on the effective use of learning strategies, multimedia, and educational technology while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards. Successful candidates will collaborate with instructional designers to facilitate virtual workshops and create documentation on a variety of learning design concepts. This position will provide instructional design support to faculty teaching in-person, online, and blended courses and may also conduct quality assurance reviews and accessibility testing of course content.

Minimum qualifications:

• Understanding of learning design principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of accessibility standards
• Adept at using technology to collaborate and communicate at a distance
• Effective project management and organizational skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Proficiency with Canvas and Microsoft Office preferred

Standard working hours are 8am - 5pm in the eastern time zone. Hours anticipated: 15-20/week; 240 hours max per semester. Compensation: The starting rate for this job is $20/hour but may be higher, depending upon experience and qualifications.
