Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. This internship will allow you to put your education into action in the field to support and participate in assigned project work. You will also support the plant operations in achieving production goals while partnering with experienced engineers, managers, and production employees in different departments. You will complete technical projects to gain an understanding of the operations of a quarry or aggregate site and learn the mission of the production, maintenance, and quality departments and different job and functions. You will ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
We are looking for current sophomores, juniors, and seniors working toward a degree in Mining Engineering or Geology. We are seeking individuals with a high level of work ethic and utilization of abilities for the best of the company. Demonstrated openness to change, flexibility, and adaptability are required. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. The ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects is necessary. Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are also important.
The work environment includes a combination of office and field work. Exposure to various weather conditions is expected. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required is mandatory.
