Job Title: Materials/Metallurgical Engineer

Annual Salary Range: $66,800 - $126,280 Salary and grade commensurate with education and experience.
As a Materials/Metallurgical Engineer at BPMI, you will work under significant to limited supervision and perform routine technical functions to support company operations in areas including, but not limited to performing materials engineering evaluations and analyses, and making engineering decisions for all aspects of assigned tasks. Cognizant areas may include planning, analyzing, documenting, inspection, and testing of nuclear, mechanical, structural, or electrical components, systems, equipment, and facilities. Work may include chemical or materials evaluations, design reviews, operations support, safety analysis, and analysis/auditing of vendor's procedures and systems for quality control or manufacturing surveillance. Work may include independent assessments or participating on multi-disciplinary teams, research and development, and on-site supplier assessments. This position requires knowledge and application of materials engineering techniques, principles, and practices employed in the area of assignment. You will be responsible to maintain the technical excellence of the Company within the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.

B.S. in Materials Science, Metallurgical, or Welding Engineering from an accredited college or university or B.S. degree in another engineering discipline with a M.S. in Materials or Metallurgical Engineer. Minimum GPA of 3.0 for newer college graduates. Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
Application of materials and processes in the design and fabrication of equipment. Preparation and interpretation of specifications and standards for metallic and nonmetallic materials and processes, and the metallurgy of materials to fabricate plant equipment or pressure vessels is desirable.
