Manufacturing Test Process Engineer

As a Manufacturing Test Process Engineer at Nokia's Allentown facility, you will play a critical role in optimizing the testing processes for our cutting-edge optical communication products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software test challenges. Responsibilities:

  • Debug and resolve complex hardware and software test issues within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Drive end-to-end test yield improvements and reduce test times through innovative problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with technicians and engineers to provide guidance for fault isolation of optical and electrical systems.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for processes and test results to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools and statistical software (JMP, Minitab) for data analysis and reporting.
  • Review and enhance designs and schematics, providing insights to improve production efficiency.
  • Engage proactively with cross-functional teams and guide, effectively communicating complex technical information.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives while balancing production demands and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree or higher in a science or engineering field (Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, etc.)
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing environments
  • Working knowledge of analog and digital electronics, with the ability to review electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in a high-level Object-Oriented language (Java, C#, VB.NET) and experience with VB.NET for test equipment control
  • Understanding of basic statistics, including Gauge R&R and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Excellent communication skills to interface with all levels of personnel
  • Proactive and self-motivated approach to problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in semiconductor, opto-electronic, or related manufacturing environments
  • Experience working with international contract manufacturers
  • Familiarity with SQL and statistical processing software (e.g., JMP/JSL, Minitab, SAS)
  • Interest in electrical and optical test and measurement equipment (e.g., optical attenuators, oscilloscopes)
