Radiology Student Assistant

Assisting technologists at UPMC Carlisle and working a variable schedule of at least 16 hours per month. Must be at least a 2nd year Radiology Student. Responsibilities include: utilizing complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data and completing procedures according to protocol under the supervision of a Radiologist or Technologist. Performing daily equipment inspections, warm up procedures, and following the Quality Control Program under supervision of a Technologist. Assisting Radiologist and Technologist in setting up contrast; however, will never be responsible for loading or priming the injector. Obtaining quality images while following radiation safety standards and protocols. Assisting with positioning and performing exams but should never hold the detector or patients for radiation procedures. Arriving patients, tracking exams, scanning scripts, and scheduling exams in the Radiology Information Systems. Assisting Radiologist and Technologist in performing modality specific exams. Maintaining clinical proficiency for all completed competencies and equipment skills. Must be an active 2nd year student in ARRT, ARDMS, CNMT, or NMCTB approved school. Licensures, Certifications, and Clearances include Basic Life Support (BLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal, Act 33 with renewal, Act 34 with renewal, and Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
