Full-Time Certified Investigator

Lifesteps is hiring a Full-Time Certified Investigator to be based in the Butler, PA area. Lifesteps is a local, non-profit human services organization which has been serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years by helping individuals and families with life's changing needs. The Agency provides programs and services to help those with special needs live to their fullest potential. Position Summary: The Certified Investigator is responsible for completing investigations for allegations of harm, abuse, or neglect to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. The Certified Investigator conducts interviews with Lifesteps employees and adult individuals with special needs within required timeframes, and may need to travel throughout Western PA to do so. The role also creates administrative reports and ensures compliance with the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) management requirements. This full-time position works Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Occasional evenings may be needed.

Position Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice, Human Resources Management or Related field and two years experience working with people who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
  • Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) Certified Investigator OR be able to obtain ODP Certified Investigator status within 3 months (Lifesteps can provide information)
  • Must be able to work independently and be highly organized
  • Excellent critical thinking and communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Impeccable honesty and integrity
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driver's license/auto insurance and the ability to travel for business utilizing personal vehicle
  • Ability to obtain ACT 33/34 and FBI clearances
