Job Opportunity At Service 1st Federal Credit Union
Serve as liaison between the Credit Union and its members within a branch retail sales environment. Responsible for greeting members, performing routine account transactions, providing account information, opening new accounts, performing lending services and handling Credit Union members' needs in a professional manner.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Perform routine member transactions
- Interview, examine and process loan applications
- Open new accounts and service existing accounts
- Explain services to members and potential members
- Resolves account related concerns with members
- Maintain office files as necessary
- Perform other job related duties as assigned
Performance Measurements:
- Represent the Credit Union to its members in a courteous and professional manner
- Receive and announce visitors and guests to the credit union
- Fulfill the stated financial needs of members and uncover the unstated financial needs
- Determine member needs by asking questions and promote and cross-sell services
- Operate on-line computer terminal to access member account information
- Perform routine member transactions
- Perform routine tasks including but not limited to verifying and balancing cash drawers
- Assist with servicing the coin machine and servicing and balancing the ATM as needed
- Provide in-person and by telephone general and specific service-related information
- Open new accounts and service existing accounts
- Perform functions relating to loan services
- Prepare all loan documents, schedule appointments, disburse funds, and mail notices
- Answer questions and provide information on first and second mortgages
- Assist members in balancing their accounts
- Provide members with account status
- Conduct orientation to explain services and programs to new credit union members
- Establish and change direct deposit and payroll deductions
- Make changes to account information
- Maintain office files as necessary
- Perform back office data entry work
- Assist with loan documentation and collection duties as needed
- Participate in training and professional development activities
- Maintain eligibility and continuing education requirements
- Becomes familiar with and abides by policies, procedures and guidelines
- Maintain a current understanding of lending regulations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience: Three to five years of similar or related experience in a credit union or banking environment
- Prior consumer lending experience preferred
- Education: High school education or GED
- Interpersonal Skills: Well-developed interpersonal skills for communicating with members
- Other Skills: Intermediate mathematical skills
- Work Environment: Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
