Job Overview: The Komatsu Mining Engineering Residency is a two-year project-based learning program. Participants are assigned four modules over two years. These modules will cover various aspects of the Komatsu Mining business areas including global product engineering, manufacturing supply chain & operations, Sales & Service, and international product support. Each module finishes with a presentation to the leadership team. In addition to the project-based learning, participants will receive Underground Product Overview Training and Individual Mentoring. Ability to immerse you in a hands-on engineering experience, cradle to grave exposure to the products you will be working with. Cross functional experience to help broaden your knowledge across the organization. Build leadership capabilities and communication skills. Ambition, drive and a passion for continued improvement. By the end of the residency program, participants will have a broad understanding of Komatsu Mining, will have built a professional network, gained skills that can be put to good use throughout their careers and developed a better understanding of the future career path they choose to follow.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline, required. 3 years' experience in engineering design, machine application, mining industry, desired. Experienced in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) tools, desired. Participation in implementing Lean Engineering principles, desired. Participation in effective Change Management implementation, desired. Experience in cross-functional team assignment(s), highly desired. Certifications or demonstrated project management, desired. Professional registration and/or membership in committees and/or technical societies, beneficial.
