Electrical Engineer Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis of system specifications and decomposition into test requirements. This role involves test software development and troubleshooting of PCBs, as well as designing cable harnesses and creating onboard electrical schematics for systems. The engineer will serve as the primary technical interface to the Onboard Lead and Work Package Leader throughout the project lifecycle, acting as a technical liaison relative to the Mechanical group.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze system specifications and decompose them into test requirements.
• Develop and troubleshoot test software for PCBs.
• Design cable harnesses.
• Create onboard electrical schematics for systems.
• Serve as the primary technical interface to the Onboard Lead and Work Package Leader.
• Act as a technical liaison with the Mechanical group.

Essential Skills:

• Experience as a Hardware Engineer with experience in PCB/electronic schematic development.
• Experience in designing, debugging, and testing PCBs.
• Proficiency in identifying and solving hardware issues.
• Experience in creating electrical schematics for boards.
• Experience in creating cable harnesses.
• Experience with the integration of cabling with mechanical racks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to work well with others and participate as a team member throughout the requirement, design, implementation, and verification phases of the project lifecycle.

Work Environment:

This position offers a hybrid work environment with 2 days on-site and 3 days remote.

Job Type & Location:

This is a contract to hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
