Direct Support Professional

We are seeking passionate and hard-working Direct Support Professional(s) to join our growing team. The Direct Support Professional will be focused on assisting and participating in the direct care services of mentally/physically disabled individuals in a group home setting. The Direct Support Professional will report directly to the Home Coordinator.

Job Responsibilities:

• Physical care
• Behavioral intervention
• Activities of daily living
• Communicating with individuals and helping them fulfill their needs
• Support the individual(s) to develop strategies, make informed choices and follow through on responsibilities
• Utilize modes of communication that are appropriate to the communication needs of the individual(s)
• Completes assigned areas in preparation for the Individual Support Plan utilizing appropriate assessment tools

Requirements:

• Ability to follow, implement and perform safety skills necessary for the safety of all individuals and self
• Ability to transfer and lift individuals with or without assistance and to occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs
• Physical Crisis Intervention skills are required in some locations/situations
• High School diploma or GED is required
• One year of experience in human services in preferred or equivalent combination of experience and training is acceptable
• Valid driver's license is required unless programmatic circumstances permit
