Data Warehouse Architect
Responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, and support of data warehouse and data management solutions to support business intelligence, working with the Analytics Center of Excellence (ACoE) data engineering team. This position works closely with key business and clinical data source systems and designs data solutions by which information is loaded into and extracted from key clinical and business systems to the Enterprise Data Warehouse. This position leverages key development, database, reporting, analytic, and business intelligence skills across a diverse and multi-faceted application landscape. This position will be responsible for developing, modifying, and maintaining data marts, tabular data models in Microsoft data warehouse/BI environment, and other data models to support the reporting and analysis needs of the organization. This position maintains a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relational database concepts, including data architecture, operational data stores, ETL/ELT processes, interface processes, data modeling, data warehouse concepts, master data management, and data manipulation.
Essential Functions:
- Provides support in requirements gathering for data solutions through collaboration with clinicians or administrators, either individually or as part of a design team.
- Strong ability to translate business requirements into design and development of data structure, data marts, along with physical and/or logical models within the designated data environments to support decision analysts.
- Experience with database design, dimensional model design, data warehouse, and building SSAS models and ETL process.
- Must have strong experience in writing SQL, DAX queries.
- Facilitates system wide data integrity, quality control, and standardization as identified by system leaders and/or system level teams.
- Understands and engages in agile methods of project and program management.
- Documents design using diagrams, and data modeling software to prototype mock-ups.
- Develops logical data models in modeling software.
- Translates logical models to physical data models within the database development tools.
- Identifies and collaborates on opportunities for conformed dimensions and master data management (MDM).
- Develops, tests, and maintains data flows like ETL/ELT (Extract Transform Load / Extract Load Transform).
- Works with data source owners to specify and create extracts from their source for data curation.
- Documents data dictionaries including entities, attributes, processes, and relationships of our applications/databases.
- Develops reporting solutions and extracts for external reporting solutions.
- Troubleshoots issues as needed for operational support and quality control.
- Educates end users on the use of the warehouse via query and/or reporting tools.
- Promotes the use of the warehouse tools by end users and the data source owners.
- Participates in data governance activities.
- Optimizes queries, cluster resources, and data warehouse solutions.
- Works with the Database Administrator and Server teams to optimize the database technology.
- Experience in technology roadmap planning and warehouse growth planning.
- Strong programing skills to support advanced ETL/ELT including languages such as Python.
- Experience programming and supporting Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms using Python, R, SparkML to support Data Engineers.
- Experience with distributed file systems and storage architecture.
- Maintains up to date knowledge of emerging and current data technology.
- Participates in the definition of departmental standards, policies, procedures, and methodologies associated with knowledge management functions, including those used to measure and improve the quality and productivity of the customer's business unit.

Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED Required, Masters Degree Preferred
- Work Experience: 8 years or more minimum experience in Computer Science/Information Systems with data warehouse design experience and 5 years in a data engineer role Required
