In this position, you will perform as a lead worker in the instruction and performance of routine and specialized tasks regarding food service operations. Your work will involve conducting food service work and providing instruction to inmates through on-the-job vocational training. Training will consist of instructing inmates in food preparation and production according to recipes, safe and sanitary operation of tools and equipment, maintenance, and storage practices. You will also review census and menu data, adjust recipes, and recycle leftover food. Additionally, you will maintain care, custody, and control over inmates during work assignments. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours will determined by shift work with rotating days off. Shifts are awarded based on bidding and seniority.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,925.00 (before taxes).

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility Qualifications:

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation;or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Legal Requirements:
• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
