Aerospace Engineer

Job Duties:

Responsible for developing and implementing design solutions for aircraft avionic systems and mechanical installation based on customer needs, business objectives, and aircraft certification requirements. The Aerospace Engineer will utilize expertise to evaluate designs and implement solutions for manufacturability, product quality, ground/flight test requirements, and systems compatibility, suggesting and developing design improvements, coordinating internal and external customer input, and performing retrofit activities to accommodate changes based on customer request. The Aerospace Engineer will develop digital design data related to the harnesses board, bill of materials, wiring diagrams, engineering change orders, interface requirements, production tools, configuration accountability, and other digital design data. They will provide technical support and be responsible for communication with all departments to ensure alignment across physical, functional, and organizational interfaces, as well as act as the technical liaison between the Design Organization and Production Organization at the assembly level. This position will also involve training junior engineering staff in accordance with management indications, and developing, standardizing, and implementing internal procedures and technical and training materials pertaining to the production process. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with using Catia V4 and V5 software for 3D modeling, drafting, assembly, mechanical and electrical harness design; a minimum of two years of experience working in a production engineering position at a facility operating under part 21 or part 145 of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); and a minimum of 1 year of experience in mechanical machining, milling, and welding. Requires knowledge of European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) procedures acquired through 1 year of experience in an engineering position operating under those procedures.

Salary: $96,300.00 - $106,300.00/year
