AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Philadelphia on October 9-10, 2025. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026. Entry Level Structural Dam Safety Engineer

We are looking for a candidate to work as part of our East Region Dams Practice located in our Conshohocken, PA office. This position will support a variety Dam Safety Engineering projects across the East Region. The successful candidate will join the ENR consistently ranked #1 Dams and Reservoirs firm and have access to exciting career advancement opportunities. This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Provide technical support to dam project managers, including design, analysis, inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of dams.
• Perform dam analysis and design such as structural stability and strength analysis of concrete dams and appurtenant structures (spillways, outlet works, and other site civil structures).
• Prepare structural evaluation reports, drawings, and specifications for dam projects.
• Prepare structural details and drawings in AutoCAD.
• Conduct field observations and site visits for dam safety inspections and dam construction oversight.
• Progression toward greater responsibility, including task and project management and certification as a professional engineer.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
• Must have a valid U.S driver's license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
• Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering exam or ability to complete within 12-months of hire.
• Proven coursework and/or background in structural engineering including reinforced concrete design, statics, and mechanics of materials.
• Previous internship experience related to dams and hydraulic structures.
• Ability and desire to occasionally travel to project sites, both local and remote.
• Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.
• Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility.
• Resourceful, highly organized professional with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Effective time-management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong desire to learn along with professional drive.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $68,000.00 - $85,000.00.
