Mail Services Clerk

The Mail Services Clerk is a 20 hour per week opening Monday thru Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. that is part of our Camps Mail Services team. This opening is primarily responsible for:

  • First point of contact for the mail room counter window.
  • Perform various mail room duties such as using scale to determine postage, processing mail using postal meter, and creating shipping labels and other tasks as needed.
  • Operate a vehicle as needed.
  • Sort and case mail and packages for faculty, staff, & students as needed in support of Mail Clerk Driver or in their absence of Mail Clerk Driver.
  • Deliver mail, packages, and copies to offices on campus as needed in support of Mail Clerk Driver.
  • Pick up outgoing post office mail & interdepartmental mail from offices to be processed as needed in support of Mail Clerk Driver or in their absence of Mail Clerk Driver.
  • Ensure high quality customer service is provided by student staff.
  • Train staff on mailroom standard operating procedures to ensure a high level of accuracy handling mail & packages.
  • Submit weekly reports to management.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift and carry packages, which may weigh up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing or sitting) for extended periods, with or without accommodation.
  • May require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.

Background Checks/Clearances:

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
