Information Technology (It) Service Manager

We are searching for a well-disciplined Information Technology (IT) Service Manager to join our Computing Services Department at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State.

ARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.

You will:

  • Fulfill various commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software requests throughout ARL, submit purchase and renewal requisitions through SIMBA (Penn State's Systems for Integrated Management, Budgeting, and Accounting) or SAP Concur
  • Maintain digital inventory of software assets across multiple networks
  • Review usage reports and log files of software licensing across multiple networks throughout ARL to identify opportunities for consolidation, license optimization, and overall cost optimization
  • Provide monthly budget details for software expenditures and encumbrances
  • Request modifications of account billing info reported from Pinnacle
  • Initiate standing purchasing orders (POs) each year for software accounts that require monthly billing
  • Review monthly invoices and coordinate payment from appropriate SIMBA charge number and PO
  • Investigate vendor questions regarding payments and receipt of items
  • Ensure support resources are implemented, reviewed, and revised on a continuous basis
  • Distribute licensing information and resolve issues software licensing issues as they arise

Required skills/experience areas include:

  • A solid understanding of IT enterprise infrastructure, applications, and services
  • Familiarity with Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) best practices
  • Demonstrated experience with asset management, software order fulfillment, billing oversight, or software licensing support
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, and troubleshooting skills in a professional environment
  • Previous success with collaborations in a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented culture
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change

Preferred skills/experience areas include:

  • Prior experience working in a research, military, or government environment
  • Current eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher and may be subject to a government background investigation to upgrade clearance eligibility if required

Minimum Education, Work Experience & Required Certifications: Bachelor's Degree 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Certifications: None.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $61,800.00 - $89,600.00. THE PROPOSED SALARY RANGE MAY BE IMPACTED BY GEOGRAPHIC DIFFERENTIAL.
