Food Service Production Worker A (Beaver) - Grade 9
Penn State is searching for a full time Food Service Production Worker A (Beaver) - Grade 9 to join the team. Duties include:
- Take orders from customers and dispense products following portion control, timing of products and temperature guidelines
- Suggest certain products to customer to help with sales mix and increase sales
- Position and check required utensils, equipment, signage, and food products according to the in-house and branded concept menu standards
- Set up, operate, and close out register
- Place money in safe and make change as needed
- Prepare items for sale following established procedures and specifications detailed by in-house and branded concept standards
- Attend specialized off-site training that may be required for work
- Ensure customer service in unit meets or exceeds departmental standards
- Set up, open, operate, and close unit according to policies, guidelines, and procedures set by the individual unit
- Operate various equipment such as broiler, grills, fryers, beverage machines, microwave ovens, pizza ovens, bun toasters, slicers
- Transfer, receive, store, rotate and inventory food supplies
- Notify management of any shortages or problems concerning food and supplies
- Store requisitioned food items and leftovers
- Maintain work area and dining area in a clean and orderly condition
- Wash and store pots and pans and equipment at pot sink area
- Train and direct work of part-time employees in the various phases of the operation
- Notify management of any problems
- Maintain proper uniform
- Ensure part-time employees are following proper dress code
- Clean janitor closet
- Vacuum carpeting in dining areas
- Operate equipment such as floor machines, buffer, vacuum cleaner, window washer, etc.
- Report malfunctions of equipment to supervisor
- Clean floors, ceilings, walls, windows, and lavatories, using ladder when necessary
- Sweep, dust, mop, wash, scrub, wax, buff, strip, seal, and perform related activities in locations such as offices, storerooms, locker rooms, receiving dock, garbage area, dining room, etc.
- Assist in moving seating modules to designated arrangements for special functions
- Dismantle and clean exhaust system and filters
- Empty, clean and maintain garbage and trash cans
- Notify supervisor of emergency situations; handle if possible until arrival
- Check with supervisor over general operating procedures
Job Requirements: Requires the use of commercial English, grammar and arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including decimals and fractions; simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments, graduates and the like requiring interpretation in their various applications; or the posting, preparation, interpretation, use and checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data. Over 3 months up to and including 12 months of effective experience.
Work Schedule: Sunday 12:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., Monday 1:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., Tuesday - Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Days Off: Friday, Saturday
