Enrollment Services Specialist

Penn State Berks is seeking an Enrollment Services Specialist to support prospective and current students through all phases of the student lifecycle—from application to graduation—ensuring a seamless and supportive experience. This role plays a vital part in delivering exceptional customer service across admissions and financial aid functions, while serving as a first point of contact for students, parents, and families.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing primary coverage of Enrollment Management contact channels, responding to inquiries via phone, email, in person, and virtual platforms with a high level of professionalism and customer service.
  • Advising prospective and current students, parents, and authorized payers on University policies and procedures related to Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, and Bursar.
  • Guiding students through the admissions process, including application assistance, evaluation, visit scheduling, and transfer credit questions.
  • Supporting students with course registration, transcript requests, enrollment verifications, changes to student information, and diploma processing.
  • Assisting with financial aid inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing guidance on federal, state, and University aid regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Receiving and processing student account payments; coordinating with the Bursar's office on complex payment or billing concerns.
  • Referring students to appropriate offices or academic programs for specialized support when needed.
  • Participating in outreach efforts, admissions events, and projects to enhance student services and engagement.
  • Leveraging technology to streamline processes, document interactions, and improve the student service experience.
  • May coordinate logistics for admissions events, manage recruitment and office supplies, and supervise part-time or student employees.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to interpret and explain policies and procedures clearly and accurately.
  • Experience working with student information systems and/or customer service technology preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Education, Work Experience & Required Certifications:

Associate Degree 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Certifications: None.

Background Checks/Clearances:

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

Salary & Benefits:

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $42,100.00 - $61,000.00.
