ResiQuant Technical Engineer

At ResiQuant, we're tackling one of the biggest challenges in disaster resilience: the lack of accurate, standardized, and dynamic property data. In a world increasingly impacted by climate change and natural disasters like earthquakes, hurricanes, and wildfires, decisions about risk are often made with incomplete or incorrect information.

Our mission is to empower insurers, financial institutions, and asset managers with AI systems fused with structural engineering expertise. These systems bridge critical data gaps to deliver precise, actionable building insights for better decision-making.

Founded by Stanford PhDs, we are committed to leveraging cutting-edge AI to protect communities and businesses from disaster impacts. At ResiQuant, we're building a future where every organization has access to world-class property risk intelligence to drive resilience and safeguard what matters most.

You will be the technical bridge to enterprise insurance customers, owning the end-to-end journey from initial technical discovery through full product integration. As our first forward deployed engineer, you'll work directly with underwriters, executives, and engineering teams at top-tier insurance carriers to implement AI solutions that reshape how trillion-dollar portfolios assess wildfire, earthquake, and hurricane risks. Your work will directly impact how communities and businesses build resilience against escalating climate disasters.

You will get to:

  • Travel extensively (weekly) to work on-site with large insurance companies across the US
  • Shadow underwriters and risk managers to map complex workflows that have never been digitized
  • Build custom integrations and automations that save customers millions in operational costs
  • Present technical solutions to C-suite executives at top-tier insurance carriers
  • Shape product direction by translating real customer needs into engineering roadmap priorities
  • Become a recognized expert in the intersection of AI, structural engineering, and insurance technology
  • Work directly with founders where your impact is immediately visible

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Customer Discovery: Lead stakeholder workshops and shadow insurance professionals to map complex underwriting processes that have operated unchanged for decades

Solutions Architecture: Design and specify API integrations, data flows, and workflow automations tailored to each customer's internal systems and business requirements

Hands-on Implementation: Write code, build prototypes, and deploy integrations that connect ResiQuant's AI platform with customer systems

Customer Success Engineering: Onboard and train underwriters one-on-one, ensuring adoption across teams of users per customer

Internal Tooling Development: Build AI-powered automation tools to streamline your own workflow and scale the implementation process

Product Feedback Loop: Serve as the voice of the customer to our product and engineering teams, driving features that unlock substantial customer value

Qualifications:

  1. 3-5 years of software engineering experience

  2. Computer Science degree or equivalent technical background

  3. Exceptional customer empathy and communication skills

  4. Analytical problem-solving mindset

  5. AI tool proficiency
