Maintenance Engineer

The Maintenance Engineer (Part-Time) position is responsible for providing technical and maintenance services throughout the hotel to keep the hotel's general equipment and systems in excellent condition.

Responsibilities include:

• Approaching all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Complying at all times with Peachtree Hospitality Management Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Maintaining regular attendance standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
• Having knowledge and understanding of all department policies and procedures, and communicating and enforcing all policies fairly and consistently with staff.
• Performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building stays in good condition.
• Assisting with preventative maintenance and completing report work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain the hotel and keep the product quality standard.
• Assisting in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and making minor repairs and/or replacement.
• Assisting in checking and making routine repairs and assisting on major repairs of all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools and general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipelines, toilets and sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment.
• Service the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters; completing maintenance request forms and record logs.
• Maintaining the building exterior and "curb appeal" (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, trash removal, and gardening).
• Refurbishing furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors windows, and counters. Painting and finishing furniture and fixtures if needed.
• Responding in a courteous manner to all guest questions, complaints, and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
• Operating heavy machinery.
• Repairing or replacing defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassembling equipment.
• Diagnosing mechanical problems and determining how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
• Assembling, installing, and/or repairing wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
• Performing maintenance work orders in a timely manner to maintain guest satisfaction.
• Communicating with other departments pertaining to guest room conditions.
• Maintaining clean and orderly work areas and storage rooms.
• Performing other duties as requested by management.
• Attending or all/training/meetings as required by management.
