PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Software Engineer in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Design, develop, and optimize core software systems that power millions of transactions daily, directly impacting our customer's experiences and our company's success. Architect and lead the development of complex backend systems, drive innovation, and mentor the team. Build and implement large-scale backend systems applying technical languages such as Python, Django, and Flask. Design and maintain complex RESTful APIs and microservices. Lead and mentor engineering teams. Drive technical excellence and best practices, guide engineering teams through complex technical challenges and design decisions. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or a related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

• Experience in at least one backend language such as Python
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Designing and architecting scalable backend systems with a focus on cloud-native solutions, microservices, and serverless architecture
• Architecting and developing large-scale backend systems using Python
• Designing and implementing fault-tolerant systems with a focus on high availability and disaster recovery
• Advanced security practices, including secure coding, encryption, and access control.
• Backend technologies and architecture
• Agile/Scrum methodology for software development
• Large-scale, high-performance systems

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

Primary Location | Pay Range:

San Jose, California | Salary: $169,262.00-243,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
