Our PayPal, Venmo, and Xoom products also make it safer and simpler for friends and family to transfer funds to each other. We offer merchants an end-to-end payments solution that provides authorization and settlement capabilities, as well as instant access to funds and payouts. We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Duties: Design and develop Machine Learning (ML) engineering solutions and generative AI application to ensure scalability, efficiency, and maintainability of such solutions. Analyze, design, develop, and test the solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies. Drive architecture discussions, produce well-documented design docs, and participate in design and code reviews. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Data Scientists, Product Partners and Partner Team Developers to identify opportunities for process improvements that can be solved using machine learning and generative AI. Write clean, high-performance, high-quality, maintainable code. Discover, analyze, structure and mine data working with various embedding models. Implement prompt engineering techniques to fine-tune and enhance LLMs for better performance and application-specific needs. Research the latest advancements in the field of Generative Al and actively contribute to the research and development of new ML & Generative AI solutions. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

• Software Development using Python (3 years).
• Machine Learning using tools like sklearn, spacy, and/or NLTK (3 years).
• Deep Learning for NLP tasks using tools including PyTorch and transformers (2 years).
• Generative AI development using tools including LangChain and LLM APIs (1 year).
• ETL pipeline development for generative AI workflows (1 year).
• RAG systems design and prompt engineering (1 year).
• Semantic search and chunking for document retrieval (1 year).
• Graph-based dialogue workflow design for chatbots (1 year).

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

Primary Location | Pay Range:

San Jose, California | Salary: $169,262.00-243,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
