AI/ML Engineer Intern

PayPal AI Product Development Internship

Design and streamline the AI product development lifecycle to deliver high-quality solutions with faster time-to-market. Drive AI/ML innovation to accelerate PayPal China's business growth. Build end-to-end, AI-first systems that enhance PayPal's China developer efficiency and business growth.

Your Day to Day:

• Design, develop and implement LLM-based agent systems using advanced machine learning techniques
• Develop and deploy AI tools in full-stack manner, to help engineering team improve work efficiency.
• Evaluate the performance of existing agents and develop improved solutions.
• Collaborate with other machine learning engineers to jointly develop the internal AI platform.

Job Requirements:

• This is a 12 weeks full-time internship starting on 22 June 2026.
• Degree relevant to Machine Learning, Computer Science, AI, or related technical field, graduating between end 2026 to mid 2027.
• Strong engineering skills, with proficiency in full-stack development.
• Strong knowledge of LLMs, agents, LLM/Agent evaluation, and prompt engineering; experience with finetuning and reinforcement learning is a plus.
• Proficient with Python, JavaScript.
• Good business sense and logical thinking.
• Strong debugging and triaging skills to identify gaps in current solutions and suggest fixes/enhancements.
• Proven ability to work independently and proficiently on well-defined projects; focuses primarily on achieving overall business objectives with speed and quality.
• Skilled in presenting – can effectively communicate in large or small group settings.
