About This Role
Responsible for assisting instructors with a variety of office support activities and functions. Provides clerical services, electronic filing, completing word processing and spreadsheets tasks, making photocopies, and assisting with the prioritization of workflow within the department.
What a day of an Instructional Support Assistant looks like:
- Provides accurate and timely updates on service requests. Escalates customer's inquiry or problem to the next level of response, as required.
- Prepares general correspondence. Types and edits forms, reports, memos, correspondence, and handbooks. Includes word processing and spreadsheets. Proofread typed copy to ensure accuracy.
- Sets up, organizes, and maintains files, manuals and publications, distributes as needed.
- Performs administrative support functions such as making photocopies, scanning documents, screening phone calls, emails, and electronic filing.
- Performs computer related functions, to include sorting and merging, printing mass mailing, web page design and maintenance, word processing, macros, tables and charts. Imports and exports data and graphic files.
- Assists personnel with operating office equipment such as personal computers, printers, and copying machines as well as software programs, providing training when necessary.
- Assists in the design and distribution of brochures, posters and flyers throughout the college, campus, or outside groups.
- Receives printing requests; monitors and distributes finished product and other forms. Provides finishing procedures for requested print jobs, to include hole punching, stapling, and binding.
- Transports materials and equipment to, from and within storage areas and operating areas.
- Plays an active role in technology related projects and tasks that relate to or impact the integration of technology in the learning environment. Maintains current in technology.
- Acquires knowledge of other staff duties and serve as a backup, as necessary.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
We'd love to hear from you if you have the following:
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of related experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
- Skilled in delivering a high level of customer service
- Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service
- Ability to interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
- Regular physical attendance required
- Formal apprenticeship or training within related subject matter
Additional duties BP# ADC2R001:
- Support the distribution of laptops and other equipment to students and faculty. Maintain records and inventory.

The minimum base pay for this position starts at $15.38 per hour; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate's education and experience.
