Field Service Technician

Our Field Technicians play a vital role in the installation, testing, and maintenance of our automation systems. Working with control panels, wiring, and diagnostic equipment to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently. This hands-on position interprets schematics, troubleshooting issues, and supporting engineers during system commissioning at our customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing hands-on tasks; wire terminations, equipment calibration, functional testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of automation systems.
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical diagrams with precision to ensure accurate implementation.
- Executing electrical work; conduit installation, wire pulling, cable sizing, and system-level testing.
- Utilizing diagnostic instruments and software tools to configure, test, and validate automation equipment.
- Collaborating with engineers during PLC system testing and commissioning for seamless integration and performance.
- Documenting service activities; calibration records, time tracking, and material usage, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Traveling to customer sites to provide on-site service, support, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Maintaining tools and test equipment, while adhering to company safety protocols and operational standards.
- Adheres to all ACE Controls and client-specific safety procedures and requirements.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications in electrical or automation fields are a plus.
- Minimum 3 years experience in commissioning control systems, wiring control panels, and working with industrial automation components.
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs and work in various environments
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment for installation and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and related automation technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record, willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
