We're actively seeking a talented Investment Operations Analyst II to join our Relationship and Business Control team in Newport Beach, CA. As an Investment Operations Analyst II you'll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by working across a wide range of operational functions including business controls, relationship management, vendor oversight, and reporting. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong communication skills, a knack for problem-solving, and a curiosity for process improvement and automation. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact initiatives while developing a strong foundation in investment operations.

How you'll help move us forward:

  • Communicate effectively across all levels of an organization (internally and externally), including senior management.
  • Translate complex issues and project updates into clear, actionable summaries.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support team goals and drive operational excellence.
  • Maintain and update counterparty data to support relationship tracking and strategic planning.
  • Provide support with contract-related activities from Business Operations that span across the Division. This includes coordinating with Procurements, Risk, and Legal team as needed to address inquiries on existing and new contracts.
  • Track pertinent vendor data to support payment oversight, strategic planning, and prioritization of initiatives.
  • Facilitate the reviews of contracts across departments related to the onboarding of new services and/or applications.
  • Prepare materials and reports for meetings/reviews with external parties (e.g., vendor, custodians).
  • Contribute to industry surveys and other relationship oversight activities.
  • Assist with the documenting of team procedures, business continuity plans, and internal controls.
  • Assist in creating the structure of administrative support for in-scope applications.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Support internal risk management efforts through data collection and analysis.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting of KPIs and KRIs to monitor performance and mitigate risk.

The experience you bring:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Data analysis, utilizing Excel pivot tables and formulas
  • PowerPoint & Word – Reporting and documentation
  • Familiarity with data visualization or workflow tools such as Power BI and Excel charts, is a plus
  • Experience with vendor/contract systems - Coupa
  • Experience with KPI/KRI reporting

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$39.81 - $48.65
