Senior Opto-Electronic Test Automation Engineer

OSI Optoelectronics is currently seeking a Senior Opto-Electronic Test Automation Engineer to be responsible for developing complex opto-electrical test systems, automate data collection and Statistical Process Control, and perform all test-related activities and equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Drive the development and maturity of test systems required to deliver current and future opto-electronics products.
- Automate manufacturing and engineering test equipment.
- Implement automated data collection and Statistical Process Control.
- Define, develop, implement, and provide hands-on support of test system solutions for opto-electronic products based on product development, verification, validation and production needs.
- Responsible for developing and operating complex test equipment.
- Provide support to other members of the engineering team regarding the upgrade of existing electrical and optical test systems.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to understand and drive requirements for production and development testing of opto-electronic devices and application modules.
- Identify gaps in test coverage, design and flow. Implement new tests to improve coverage.
- Test optoelectronic devices, electro-optical assemblies and optoelectronic application modules.
- Conduct new product characterization and summarize the results in reports.
- Create and maintain documentation test procedures and related documentation.
- Maintain, repair and improve legacy test equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment, test fixtures and existing custom software applications.

Qualifications
Must have:
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with electro-optical test and measurements.
- Strong knowledge of optical and electrical engineering principles, including fiber optics, lasers and photo detectors.
- Hands-on experience with a wide range of lab equipment and tools related to opto-electronics, such as but not limited to monochromator, integrating sphere, lasers, optical fiber, light sources, optical power meter, lock-in amplifier, oscilloscope, logic analyzer.
- Experience with signal processing techniques and digital processing algorithms.
- Experience in optical analog front-end testing in short light pulse and low optical power scenarios.
- Experience in developing, scripting, and running tests for optical components and systems, including testbed development.
- Hands-on experience in semiconductor device characterization.
- Ability to assess test processes by means of statistical process control.
- Working experience in a production environment.
- Hands-on working knowledge in design, development and implementation of test fixtures and systems electro-optical devices and modules.
- Ability to assess test processes by means of statistical process control.
- Previous experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Labview virtual instruments (VIs) and Python or other scripting languages.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to report project status verbally and in written form.
- Familiarity with Quality Control, ISO Standards, Mil-Std-750, Mil-Std-88
Desired:
- Strong background in metrology.
- Knowledge of advanced optical imaging techniques working principles such as confocal microscopy.
- Experience with circuit design and/or simulation.
- Experience with optical design and/or simulation such as Zemax or Tracepro.
