The Welding Technician is responsible for fabricating, joining, and repairing metal components, equipment, and structures using various welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding. This role performs welds in all positions in accordance with specifications and company or customer requirements. The technician applies specialized skills, tools, and techniques to ensure high-quality workmanship while supporting facility operations through minor maintenance activities and assisting other trade technicians. The position also involves responding to facility, equipment, and system issues, documenting work accurately in the CMMS, and proactively identifying potential failures. The Welding Technician maintains a strong commitment to safety, housekeeping, and hazardous waste management, while completing additional duties and projects as assigned.

While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must have the ability to use hand trucks, forklifts, tugs, and lift trucks. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircrafts and confined areas. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination is required.
The work environment is similar to airport operation with vehicular traffic. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
