This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) LEAP Student Events & Program Operations Coordinator for the College of Engineering Administration at Oregon State University (OSU). The LEAP Events & Program Operations Coordinator supports the planning and execution of LEAP programs by coordinating logistics, managing event details, and ensuring a high-quality student experience. This role plays a key part in delivering workshops, industry treks, and the LEAP Summit by helping translate program goals into well-organized, engaging events.

Position Duties - Plan and support implementation of LEAP events, including workshops, social gatherings, industry treks, and the LEAP Summit. Coordinate event logistics such as RSVPs, attendance tracking, catering, materials, and space reservations. Develop and manage event timelines and run-of-show documents to ensure smooth execution. Anticipate program needs and troubleshoot challenges before and during events. Communicate event details clearly to students, mentors, and staff to support participation and engagement. Collect and organize post-event feedback and participation data to inform future programming. Maintain organized records of event logistics, materials, and processes for continuity across the LEAP program. Collaborate with LEAP student staff and program leadership to align events with program goals and student experience priorities. Skill Development In this role, students will: Develop project management skills by planning events from concept through execution and evaluation. Build problem-solving skills in fast-paced, real-time environments. Strengthen collaboration and communication within a team setting. Gain experience coordinating logistics and managing operational details. Learn to assess program effectiveness through feedback and data.
Minimum Qualifications - Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study. Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment. Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard. Additional Required Qualifications - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to take initiative and problem-solve. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications - Experience with event planning, coordination, or logistics. Previous involvement in LEAP or other student leadership programs.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule - This role works closely with other LEAP student staff and program leadership. Hours may increase during peak program times (workshops, Summit, recruitment, industry treks).
