Job Summary - The Department of Forest Engineering, Resources and Management invites applications for one or more 9-month, fixed-term, full/part-time Instructors to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2025-2026 academic year. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an Instructor position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Department Head. The department of Forest Engineering, Resources and Management comprises a unique group of specialists in forest management, engineering, biometrics, hydrology, forest health, and silviculture working to support decisions for sustainable forests. Our teaching and research emphasize all aspects of active forest management and restoration from regeneration through harvest for multiple land use objectives, including wood production and management for values other than wood. The mission of the Department is to develop, communicate, and teach the science and engineering necessary for sustainable management of forest, land, and water resources to achieve economic, environmental, and social objectives. It accomplishes this through an interconnected program of 1) undergraduate and graduate educations; 2) scholarly research; and 3) extended education.

Key Responsibilities

100% – Instruction: Develop and/or teach courses in undergraduate and graduate areas in the department of Forest Engineering, Resources and Management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and presenting teaching materials; creating and grading assignments, quizzes, and exams; assessing grades; and holding office hours, as necessary. Teaching assignment will be either on-campus or through E-campus.

What You Will Need

Master's degree or higher in Forestry or closely related discipline. Prior teaching experience.

What We Would Like You to Have

Teaching experience at the college or university level. Evidence of teaching excellence, such as a student, peer or mentor evaluation. Experience with instruction of distance education courses. Demonstrated ability to design, teach and assess courses that support inclusive learning principles and promote equitable teaching practices, to the benefit of all learners.
