Position Summary - This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Graduate Special Project Assistant for the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Oregon State University (OSU). The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is looking for a current graduate level student with knowledge and experience in web development to design, building, and maintaining scalable web applications that supports large-scale academic and industry events in support of the schools Corporate Relations Team.

Position Duties - This role focuses on developing internal tools, event platforms, and content systems that improve operational efficiency, enhance user experience, and support hundreds of users. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver full-stack solutions and automate workflows. Solutions must comply with Oregon State University, College of Engineering, and School of EECS guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications - Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found here: http://fa.oregonstate.edu/stu-manual/500-employment-eligibility-requirements Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Additional Required Qualifications - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or closely related field Experience with PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and relational databases (MySQL) Experience optimizing SQL queries and improving performance Experience building dynamic web applications (frontend + backend) Experience implementing server-side form handling using PHP with HTTP POST request workflows Works well independently, and in a team Manage and enhance existing websites, ensuring they remain up to date, secure, and perform well with user traffic Provide responsive support to user requests, resolving issues and ensuring positive user experience.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications - Experience with SharePoint and Salesforce (custom objects, reporting, or integrations, documenting) Understanding of REST APIs, authentication, and web security best practices Familiarity with CMS platforms such as Drupal Experience designing scalable systems and handling large datasets Familiarity with CRON jobs, automation pipelines, and scripting Knowledge of accessibility standards
