Position Summary - This recruitment will be used to fill three part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) technical Project Assistant position for the School Civil and Construction Engineering at Oregon State University (OSU). Undergraduate Research Assistant – Sustainable, Healthy, and Resilient Buildings Lab: The Sustainable, Healthy, and Resilient Buildings lab is looking to recruit Undergraduate Research Assistant students, starting in Fall term and continuing to Winter, Spring, and possibly Summer terms. Start date is flexible with at least one academic year to work in this position.
About Sustainable, Healthy, and Resilient Buildings Lab: This lab is established and led by Dr. Parichehr Salimifard at Oregon State University College of Engineering. The mission of this lab is to improve the health and well-being of the public by making the environments in which people spend the majority of their lifetime healthier, more sustainable, and also resilient. The Sustainable Healthy, and Resilient Buildings research projects have crossovers to fluid dynamics, aerosol science, energy efficiency, sustainability, and environmental health.
Indoor Air Quality: One of the core research areas of our lab is indoor environmental quality, particularly control, and mitigation of building occupants' exposure to contaminants and allergen and virus-carrier particles indoors. We have conducted research on aerosols dynamics and sensing; more specifically on particle transport, deposition, resuspension, aerosol sensing, and size characterization. The most recent and emergent contributions of these research projects are in airborne infectious disease and wildfire smoke exposure mitigation and control.

Additional Required Qualifications
Preferred (Special) Qualifications - Background in Engineering or other STEM majors with a strong background in programming and sensor data-acquisition systems Strong programming skills and experience with any of R/MATLAB/Python/C++ Excellent writing and communication skills
