Peer Support Specialist

The Peer Support Specialist will be an essential part of the Behavioral Health Team. Provides telephonic and in person support and assistance with connection to outpatient behavioral health, substance use and other community services to patients who have recently discharged from the hospital. Required Qualifications

  • THW Certification in the state of Oregon as a peer in one of the following:
    • PSS: Peer Support Specialist - Adult Mental Health, Adult Addiction, Family Support, Youth Support
    • PWS: Peer Wellness Specialist - Adult Mental Health, Adult Addiction, Family Support, Youth Support
  • Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request.
  • In compliance with company policy and state regulations, a Department of Human Services (DHS) criminal background check may be required.
  • Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Peer Support Specialist Only: Recovery Mentor Certification upon hire.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider within 30 days of hire.
  • 1 year - Providing peer support services.
  • 1 year - SUD only: Experience working with people with substance use disorders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Peer Support Specialist Only: CADC I (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) within 60 days of hire.
  • Experience working with patients with chronic, acute and contingent crisis.

Pay Range

$22.44 - $34.33 The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
