Service Desk Technician

A Service Desk Technician is needed to support a fast-paced operations environment by providing high-quality customer service and technical troubleshooting for our client in Portland, Oregon. This role involves handling incoming support calls, assisting with hardware issues, and supporting service desk activities related to kiosk-based systems. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. This is an on-site position within a close-knit team and offers long-term growth potential in a rapidly expanding organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver professional, accurate, and efficient support for incoming calls from customers and field operations teams.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues and assist with service desk tasks related to kiosk systems.
  • Serve as a backup operator to help maintain system integrity.
  • Monitor system alerts, error logs, and communication networks; escalate issues according to established procedures.
  • Enter and validate data within scheduling systems.
  • Complete daily checklist tasks with accuracy and consistency.
  • Participate in assigned projects as a contributing team member.
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing for new software releases.
  • Complete system configuration requests as assigned.
  • Identify processing errors, perform preliminary troubleshooting, and escalate when necessary.
  • Support additional duties as assigned.
  • Work during designated blackout periods aligned with high-attendance operational days.

  • Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
  • Technical aptitude, including interest or experience with gaming, PC building, or basic hardware troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Entry-level IT or service desk experience.
  • Strong customer service skills and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work on-site and collaborate with a small, supportive team.
  • Openness to taking on new tasks and adapting to evolving needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in help desk or technical support environments.

Work Environment:

  • Fully on-site role within a collaborative, close-knit team.
  • Long-term opportunity with room for growth.
  • Two-step interview process: team interview followed by HR.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $18.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
